Our Life

Neither of us slept well. Wake up, straighten up the house, pack the bag in the car, gather all the electronic devices, and call the Hospital @ 0730. Rooms are full. Call back later.So, we wait. They called us back. Be there @ 1030. It seems so far off. But, Hey!, at least there is a slot and we aren’t being told “Come in on Monday…”

May 10 was the due date… I love deadlines, especially the whooshing noise they make as they fly by…The Host was not pleased. She is at that frustrated point of “GET OUT!” Miserable because she can’t get comfortable, miserable because she made the deadline but no relief, just miserable.So, Tuesday she went to the OB. They did a stress test because the baby hadn’t been moving as much as we are used to. Baby and Mommy fine. Doc said that if there weren’t any advancement by then, they’d induce on Thursday @ 0800.We call the Hospital, as instructed, to verify that they have the room for another. Hospital said they had no birthing rooms open at that time, call back in 2 hours.So, we sit here, waiting. More updates as we have them. 

We went to an Easter egg hunt on the south campus at UGA this morning. Corinn had a blast, this was her first egg hunt. The eggs were filled with Cheerio’s and kisses, she dumped the cheerio’s and chowed down on the chocolate. Here’s a couple of pics.

We went to the Atlanta Aquarium this past week, Corinn went nuts! FISH, FISH, FISSSSHHHH!!! Was all I heard for the first 5 minutes we were there. Thank goodness Cliffs Cousins children were there to help keep Corinn with our group. I couldn’t keep up with her. I had a check up with my doctor the next day, and was told to keep my activity very low, if it takes longer then 15 minutes I was told not to do it, because I swelled so badly after the aquarium. Just a few more weeks left and I am so ready I can’t stand it! My sister-in-Law had her baby 9 days early on April 2nd. I’m hoping maybe the same could happen for me!! We had an awesome day playing in the snow. This was Corinn’s first chance to play in snow, she thought it was great. Here’s a couple if pics.

Today we went to the Game Ranch, and the DeKalb Farmers Market. Here’s a run down of all the animals we saw: (big breathe) Cow, Deer, rooster, chicken, rabbits, cougar, foxes, wolves, Buffalo, Bear, donkey, pony, raccoon, owls, squirrels, goats, peacock and pigs. Most of which we could easily pet. Corinn was amazed by the friendly squirrels and deer, so were Mommy and Daddy.
The farmers market was crazy busy, but interesting as always. It seems they gotten more expensive since I was there last.

Just an update on the new bambino. The baby is currently battling a bout of the hiccups, Im watching my tummy bounce up and down as I write this post. Corinn still isn’t getting that she will have a brother or sister, or even that the growing bump is a baby. She tries to push the bump out of the way while we’re snuggling on the couch, hope that’s not an indicator of how she’ll treat the baby when it arrives.
I’ve made the official leap into motherhood; the Minivan has joined our family. It really is very nice not to reach down in the car to get Corinn out, I’m still getting used to the terrilble gas mileage, I will miss the Neon’s eco friendly gas mileage. I think that’s all that’s new. Corinn is talking up a storm, I’d say she has 30ish words, and 16 teeth, she’s really looking more like a toddler every day, it’s scary how fast the grow up!

Christmas was so fun. Corinn understood opening gifts and enjoyed all her gifts this year. We attempted to get a Christmas themed picture for the card this year. We took pictures at the park, in the bath tub, and in front of the fire place. None of them turned out. We ended up using a picture that I just happened to snap one day. The card tuned out pretty cute! The new baby is kicking like crazy these days, and I look about 7 months pregnant, and I’m only 5 months pregnant. This has me a little scared. I can’t believe we only have four more month to go. It seems surreal to be having another child, I can’t imagine anything different then then Corinn.

I got the best gift today. Corinn said I love you for the first time. I don’t think I’ve ever heard anything sweeter. It’s amazing to me how something so small and make my heart swell.
We also went to the doctor today to check on the new baby. Baby is fine, they are concerned about me giving birth, with the Chiari diagnosis I received on my brain. I may end up with a C-section, yuck! Rather be safe then sorry I guess. But I did push Corinn out so there is hope. Only 28 more weeks o go!
